Vision Statement At Yaloo, we believe that education and cultural understanding are the keys to success in the new global community, but that too few people have access to them. Our goal is to change that -- by revolutionizing education and connecting the world in powerful new ways. Yaloo is using the interactive and connective opportunities of the internet to provide high quality education and meaningful cultural exchange to people who want to participate in the exciting socio-economic prosperity of the global community but currently cannot. We are attempting to connect the best of the online and offline worlds. We are using the internet to scale the best current teaching methods, but we're also creating new learning solutions: solutions that are actually engaging, social and enjoyable, so that students can be excited about their progress and can be the real protagonists in their education. Yaloo's educational philosophy stresses tangible motivations, relevant material, social interactions, and practical skills. Yaloo helps students develop the important global skills they want and need to succeed in the modern world, including English language proficiency, college preparation, and a basic understanding of the ingenuity and democratic ideals that are driving the prosperity of the modern world. We are connecting students and teachers from around the world to create deep and meaningful cultural exchange, and to provide both sides with fulfilling opportunities to help each other learn and grow. By providing high-quality education on a large scale and fostering cultural understanding across continents, we at Yaloo want to do nothing less than change the world.

The name Yaloo (pronounced YAY-loo) was inspired by the Mandarin word for Yale University, which is the place where this whole journey began.
